Disclaimer

Effective date: [LAUNCH MONTH YEAR]

The short version

I’m a baker who lifts. I’m not a doctor, dietitian, or personal trainer. The content on this site is for fun, food, and information — not medical or nutrition advice. The macros are estimates. Some links earn me a small commission. The rest is below.

1. Nutrition information disclaimer

Nutrition information on liftandbake.com (calories, protein, carbs, fat, etc.) is provided as a courtesy and an estimate only.

Values are calculated using third-party databases (e.g., the USDA FoodData Central, recipe calculator plugins) based on the specific ingredients I used when developing the recipe. Your actual values will vary depending on:

  • The specific brand of protein powder, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. you use
  • How precisely you measure
  • Substitutions you make
  • Servings sizes (eyeballed vs. weighed)

If you’re tracking macros tightly for medical, performance, or personal reasons, I strongly recommend you calculate your own values using the actual labels of the products in your kitchen.

Nothing in any nutrition box on this site should be relied on as exact.

2. Not medical, nutrition, or fitness advice

I’m not a registered dietitian, certified nutritionist, medical professional, or personal trainer.

Everything on this site — the recipes, the macro tips, the casual chat about lifting and eating — is personal experience and educational content, not advice tailored to you.

If you have:

  • A medical condition (diabetes, kidney issues, eating disorder history, etc.)
  • Food allergies or intolerances
  • Specific performance or body composition goals
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding considerations
  • Any concerns about your diet or fitness routine

…please talk to a qualified professional. They can take your specific history into account in a way that a blog post cannot.

Always consult your doctor before starting a new exercise program or making significant changes to your diet.

3. Allergen disclaimer

This is not an allergen-free kitchen.

Most recipes on the Site contain one or more of: dairy, eggs, wheat / gluten, tree nuts, soy. Cross-contamination is possible.

If you have a food allergy or intolerance:

  • Read every ingredient carefully.
  • Check the labels on the specific products you use (especially protein powders — formulations change).
  • Test small amounts first if you’re trying a new ingredient.
  • When in doubt, skip the recipe.

I am not responsible for allergic reactions caused by ingredients in the recipes on this Site.

4. Recipe results disclaimer

I test every recipe before publishing — usually multiple times. That said, kitchens vary. Ovens run hot, scales calibrate differently, brands change formulas, ingredients vary by season. Your results may differ from mine.

If a recipe doesn’t turn out as expected, please leave a comment on the post with what you used and how it came out — it helps me improve the recipe and helps the next person.

5. Affiliate disclosure

Some links on this site are affiliate links. That means if you click a link to a product (a protein powder, a baking pan, a stand mixer, a cookbook) and end up buying something, I may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you.

I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. I also participate in other affiliate programs from time to time.

I only link to products I’ve actually used or genuinely recommend. The commission doesn’t influence which products I cover.

When a post contains affiliate links, you’ll see a note at the top of that post saying so.

6. Sponsored content disclosure

If a post is sponsored — meaning a brand has paid me to feature their product or has provided product in exchange for content — that will be clearly disclosed at the top of the post in line with FTC guidelines (e.g., “This post is sponsored by [Brand]. All opinions are my own.”).

I only work with brands whose products I’d use anyway, and I won’t say something is great if it isn’t. If a sponsorship doesn’t work out (the recipe flops, I don’t love the product), I refund the brand and don’t publish.

7. Display advertising

This Site displays advertising from third-party ad networks. Ads are served based on cookies and the network’s targeting — I don’t pick or endorse the specific ads you see. See the Privacy Policy for details on advertising cookies and how to opt out.

8. External links

Links to third-party websites are provided as a courtesy. I don’t control those sites and I’m not responsible for their content, products, or practices.

9. Personal views

Opinions on this Site are mine and mine alone — not those of any employer, brand, sponsor, or affiliate. (And I reserve the right to change my mind. That’s part of how recipes get better.)

10. Changes to this disclaimer

I may update this Disclaimer from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will reflect the most recent change.
